In hydraulic circuits, the flow control valves are used to either split the flow of hydraulic oil between multiple circuits or control the flow and speed of an actuator. Control of flow means that it is either increasing, decreasing or maintaining the flow of oil. Speed of the actuator is how fast it is doing its movements. The flow control valves are basically of two types plus flow dividers. Non compensated or fixed orifice flow control Pressure compensated or bleed off flow control Flow dividers Flow control valves that are used to regulate the flow of hydraulic oil to an actuator function by defining a flow area for the oil to pass through. It can be classified as adjustable and non-adjustable. They are rated by operating pressure and capacity, and can be used in meter-in and meter-out applications. Meter-in means the flow that is required to enter the actuator and meter-out means the flow which is required not to enter the actuator. Non compe...
A good technician must take some necessary precautions before servicing the vehicle computer or any controlled systems. The BCM or ECM or any control module is designed to work and withstand maximum current draws associated with usual operations. However, Control modules might get damaged if overloading of any of the system circuits take place. So, follow these service precautions to prevent control modules and circuit damage: 1. Unless the service information instructs you to do so, do not ground or apply voltage to any controlled circuits. 2. It is always recommended to use only a high impedance multimeter (10 megaohm or greater) to test the circuits. The combined opposition to current created by the resistance, capacitance, and inductance of the meter is called its impedance. Unless specifically instructed to do so in the service information, it is suggested never to use a test light. 3. Before making or breaking electrical connections to the control module, do make sure...
